How to setup Instant Indexing by SEO Suite?

This feature allows your website's new content to appear in search results in a short time, sometimes even immediately after an update. Isn't that amazing? It ensures that the freshest information on your website is quickly available to searchers.

What is Indexing?

You might be wondering, "What exactly is indexing?" Well, for your store's information to appear on search engines like Google, it usually goes through three main stages:

  1. Crawling: This is when the search engine looks for content on the Internet, scanning all the content/code on every URL it can find.
  2. Indexing: This is where the search engine categorizes, stores, and organizes the content found during the crawling stage.
  3. Ranking: Based on the categorization, the search engine ranks the content, displaying the most relevant results first to provide the best answers to a searcher's query.

In simpler terms, indexing is the process where search engines categorize and organize your website's data that they've collected (or "crawled"), which then helps them rank your website and return search results to users.

Benefits of Indexing

Search engines will crawl the pages on your store through a sitemap. However, whenever your pages update information, instead of waiting for the sitemap to update and pinging search engines, using the Indexing API allows store owners to directly notify search engines so they can crawl the page sooner.

So, what are the main benefits of the Indexing API?

  • Your page's content will be ranked faster.
  • It gives you a chance to increase your ranking before your competitors.
  • Pages with updated information will be crawled faster.

The Instant Indexing feature in the AVADA SEO Suite app helps you use Google and Bing's Indexing API, supporting the indexing of URLs on your store.

How to Set Up

Step 1: Activate the Feature​

  • Please go to the SEO Suite app > From the left menu, select Search Appearance > Choose Instant Indexing.
  • Kindly click on 'enable' to activate the feature.

Step 2: Settings​

  • Google

    • Under Google > Please click on 'Enable'.
    • Copy & paste your Google JSON key file or upload the JSON file.

  • Google Action:

    • Update URLs: The links you submit will be updated on Google Search Console.
    • Remove URLs: The links you submit will be removed from Google Search Console.

  • Bing:

    • Under Bing > Please click on 'Enable'.
    • Click on 'Generate' to get the Indexing API key.

Please remember to click on 'Save Settings' to save all the information you've adjusted.

Step 3: Submit URLs​

  • Submit from Shopify: You can submit individual or multiple URLs of Shopify's product, collection, pages, or blogs.

  • Product:

    • Click on the product link in the app or go to Shopify admin > Select Product.

  • Mass Submission by SEO Suite:

    • Enter the list of URLs you need to submit, with a maximum of 100 URLs per submission.
    • Click on 'Submit URLs to Google & Bing'.
